It is hard to believe, but September is here! The fall aspen leaves are in full color, and Monday morning we awoke to snow on the Mosquito Range and Mt. Sherman. Oh, the joys of living above 9000 feet and in heaven on earth. (I feel that way until I try to bake something.) By the end of this week, our highs are forecast in the 50s and fall will have officially arrived with the autumnal equinox.
It seems that only last week that we gathered for the annual picnic. The food was wonderful and the company was even better. It is such a treat to come together with friends, neighbors, and families. This year was also special because of the extra ice cream social event on Friday evening and the games Saturday afternoon. Once again, I want to say thank you to Ed Hart, former Member-At-Large, Niki Griffin, John Adams, Ranch Manager, and the committee of planners and “worker bees” for your efforts and hard work for the Ranch and the Annual Picnic weekend.
Finally, the Board of Directors continues to work for you. Since the August meeting and picnic, we met in a Special Meeting to elect officers, and the regular meeting on September 9th. We are also preparing for work sessions to review our operating documents and procedures. At the regular meeting, there were over a dozen folks who came to provide comments and input for consideration. This made for a lively, collaborative meeting that included positive contributions from all. That is exactly the way our meetings should be. We understand that many cannot participate in person. However, we encourage you to use the RORA Forum online, and our emails to make sure we continue to hear your voice.
