RANCH OF THE ROCKIES UPDATE

Updates on the 5th and 20th

August 5th 2018 Managers input

Welcome August, As most of you know we have the Picnic coming up on August 11th 2018 starting at 09:00. I am looking forward to seeing you all there. There will be much to talk about at the picnic and I sure hope that folks can find the time to attend.

The biggest thing I have going on is the Reservoir, Unfortunately it will be closed for quite some time. There was a lot of Dead fish in there from the Flood that came through from the Burn Scar up Stream. We have some work to get done  East of the Spillway between the Dam and the Hiway. Then we can concentrate on the water and debris floating in there. We are not sure how much Silt and Ash was washed in there but it was significant enough to really cause some Problems now and in the Future with the possibility of more flooding.  The Good news is the Dam Inspector did not require us to drain it and the function of the Reservoir is to store water, That amount of water we are required to store may have been effected but it is fixable. Like I said there is a lot of work to do to bring it back to normal we just have to  be patient.

I receive calls about the Fire and what the status is, If you follow the Weston Pass Face Book Page or the Ranch of the Rockies forums there are websites you can look up and hopefully they will be able to help you out.

As the Sumer goes along I would like to Remind Folks that ATVs are not allowed on county roads, We have had a few real close calls with Cars Versus ATVs, As a member of the Fire Department I would really not like to respond to an accident there are no winners.  So Please be careful while you driving the roads.

Last but not Least I would like to publicly thank both Ron Rose and Tom Wells for their service on the Board of Directors Again, they have both been on the Board repeatedly and the work they have done to Support Ranch of the Rockies has been terrific. You guys are Awesome and you will both be Missed. Thank you again for the Opportunity to work with you once again.
