The color is almost gone! It is amazing to see the difference in just two weeks.? Frosty nights and windy days have stripped many of the aspen of their gold and orange. Autumn is here for sure, as attested to by the pictures I took from the porch this morning. This is the week for the first of the articles from the Board of Directors.
Update from the President ? As all of you know, the make-up of the Ranch of the Rockies Board of Directors has gone through some changes.? No one knows better than I do how much we are going to miss Tom and Darryl. Both have given us so much of their time and effort, and I know we are all very grateful for all they have done. With the shuffling of the board, I was asked to serve in the position of president.? The only thing that keeps going through my mind is ?You never know what you don?t know?. Fortunately for all of us, Tom and Darryl are both still here, and have made themselves available to help with the transition.? Brenda and Dick have embraced their new roles as Treasurer and Secretary, and are going to be great assets to the board, and to all of us at the Ranch.? John K. has assumed the member at large position and Jim remains vice president.
As the summer has drawn to a close, it is once again time for all of us to get ready for winter. If you are a part time resident, don?t forget to make sure your house, or R.V. is prepared for the cold weather. It is heartbreaking to see houses fall victim to broken water pipes. We had a fairly mild winter last year, but don?t be lulled into thinking it was typical. The year before, we saw many nights in the -30s and even?????? -40s in some areas of the Ranch. Even the best plumbing can fail under those conditions. If you are not sure how to go about winterizing your place, call the office, or call me at home.? John and I have both had a little experience, and we can help you get it done.? Also, be sure to check out the bulletin board and the classified on this site for services which may be offered by Ranch residents, such as, Snow plowing, house sitters, and animal sitters to mention a few of the services which you might find offered by your neighbors.
Lastly, I am honored to be able to give back to my neighbors. If there is anything I can do to help you with anything going on here at the Ranch of the Rockies, please give me a call or shoot me an email.? Sorry, I don?t tweet?..

Website ? It has been a little over six months since we implemented the new site, and we already have more than 365 registered viewers.? This is compared to approximately 400 in the five or so years that we had the previous site up.? The new site allows a little better control over the registration process and it is quite a bit easier to administer.? Please be sure, that if you have any problems or questions, don?t hesitate to email me at tewells@hotmail.com and I will try to address them.
