RANCH OF THE ROCKIES UPDATE

Updates on the 5th and 20th

Hello all, I hope your enjoying getting outdoors after that rather harsh winter…brrr. Lots of activity seems to be going on in the Ranch, many new neighbors have joined our little piece of heaven. If you’re new, welcome! I’m sure you have figured out a lot of your own questions, if you’re still wondering, don’t be shy, we have many wonderful neighbors that are more than happy to help. We have a couple of social media pages (Nextdoor & Facebook) as well as the forum, right here on the Ranch web page.

Speaking of being outside, just wanted to remind everyone that if you wish  to have an open campfire you will need to purchase a Burn Permit, you can go online at http://www.hartselfire.org/burn-permits.html and purchase your permit in the comfort of your home or you can visit Hartsel Fire at 86 Valley Ave in Hartsel at Station #1 and the super friendly staff can help you.

Looks like the Burn Pit opened for the season, a huge Thank You to Josh  and Hartsel Fire for getting our last years pile burned down making room for our residents to clear their property. If you are working towards mitigating your property please stop by the office and pick up a Firewise activity form, keep track of your activity will help us maintain our Firewise status.

2021 is going to be our year; I can feel it. The RORA Board of Directors is working to organize our 2021 Annual Meeting that is going to include our after meeting PICNIC. More details will be coming soon as we plan and perfect the entire day. When is this you ask? Great question! The RORA Annual Meeting and picnic are held on the second Saturday in August, it is always a Ranch favorite to get together, especially after the year we just endured.

Just a heads up in case your travels take you North, CDOT is going to be working on a bridge on 285 near CR 22, you guessed it, 285 is going to be closed for a couple of months as they improve the safety of our infrastructure. This will mean increased traffic on Highway 24 to Hartsel and Highway 9 to Fairplay as travelers are detoured. Fishermen, don’t worry, Hwy 285 will be open to the RORA reservoir from Antero Junction.

I am enjoying all the new and shining faces here on the Ranch as well as catching up with old friends around the neighborhood. Loving all the rain, which has renewed the grasses and flowers, the Aspens are blooming, and our favorite birds are back for the season. All the things you wanted to do having a place in the mountains, now’s your time…go do them! Have a blessed summer y’all.
