Fall is in the air, and the trees are changing. Such a beautiful time of year to have a place in the Colorado mountains!
The board met for the first time this month with our new board of director present, Ed Hart. Ed brings a great deal of experience with him, and will we look forward to having him on board.
Just a reminder that trailers are required to be off lots by the first of October. We will be sending out letters the 2nd Saturday of October to those that have not moved them yet.? We have a storage yard that is available, for only $1 per month.? If you need help moving yours-check with John Adams at the office to see if he can help with a solution.
We also want to remind you that starting in November, the Park County changes will start being enforced. This will affect our property owners that leave their trailers up on vacant lots all Summer, so please go to the Park County site to make yourself aware of the changes that will affect you next year.
I have uploaded the page pertaining to this section 5-712 from the LUR?s. You can see it here;? Park County LUR re Trailers
One of our property owners has volunteered to form a committee to put together lots of fun things, for our next annual picnic. Niki has started a thread in the forums which you can access here;? https://rotr.org/forums/topic/looking-for-picnic-committee-volunteers/?????
We have a lot of people in the Ranch that know how to put on a party! I hope you will come to her information meeting on October 3rd at 5:30 pm at the Ranch Office.? Make sure to reach out to her through the forum, so she knows how many will be coming.
As always, I?d like to invite you to come to our monthly board meeting-located at the Ranch Office, 9 am on the 2nd Saturday of the month.

The Picnic was a great success and I was glad to see so many folks attend. I want to personally thank all the volunteers for their support, everything from preparations to set-up and teardown Thank you, All.
Open Top Dumpsters– Thanks everybody for taking advantage of having them again this year this is a huge benefit provided by the Board of Directors at Ranch of the Rockies to get rid of old debris outside and inside. We will have them again next May 2017.
Welcome Ed Hart to the Board of Directors Member-At-Large position I look Forward to working with Ed on the upcoming Christmas party and whatever else you will need help with.
Reservoir– I have been asked how the fishing is and to tell you the truth I just don’t know I don’t really fish there but I can tell you I just restocked it the week before Laborday.
Bears– This seems to be a topic of interest because we have had numerous sightings and encounters this summer. As we approach the winter they will become more aggressive in the search for food so please do not feed the bears by that I mean leave anything out for them like garbage, bird feeders, humming bird feeders, pet food or dirty barbeques . We have had a chicken killing bear that had to be destroyed and that’s unfortunate. There are guidelines for chicken coops, provided by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, if that is something you are going to do. Please contact Parks and Wild life before you put chicken coops up.
Burn Pit– Another great year for the Burn Pit and man, is it full. Thanks everybody, for filling it up and thank you for all the folks that have stepped up and Volunteered to watch the gate. Fire Mitigation is a huge thing, when it comes to the safety of everybody here on the ranch, even if you do not live here full time.
Winter-As we approach the winter, I would like to remind folks to winterize your RVs, homes and vehicles, also check your emergency pack, in your cars and homes, it’s not too late.
Roads– As most of you know we have had a lot of rain and the conditions of the roads is deteriorating. I have had a lot of Phone calls about this and my advice to those folks, was to File a complaint with Park County Road and Bridge, either by Phone, or E-Mail, as this is what I do as well.
